Checking oil after fill
1990 XT600A Do any of you have a problem refilling oil to the correct level after an oil change? I'm always too much or too little!

Do a search into the yam tech forum - there are loads of threads about everything to do with oil for the XT engine (look for TT as well) - it's all in here!! Dave

Squeeze bottle a guart back into the eng case, do the same into the filter housing if you change it, fill oil tank to bottom of dip stick 5 to 10 mm start it, run for 30 sec top up to close to full, not over. Oil filter change break bleeder running make sure you have oil flow! Ride let sit till warm check level top to you liking and you there. Other than that you got to measure the old oil if it was at your level. The squeeze bottle back into the eng case work out great for me!
