cdi/stator

Hi all----need some info from the experts. I have an 85 tt600 just rebuilt. i installed a stator and rotor from a xt600--12v with the tt600 cdi. bike starts easy hot or cold and runs great till high rpm were it starts missing and almost shuts off till you back off the throttle. carbs are clean and jetted for the cam and 11-1 piston. do i need the xt cdi? i have another tt cdi but haven't tried it yet. -----------thanks in adv.

Sounds a bit like the main jet is too large .

Easy start or not, you cant tell if the mainjet is off from that, just so everybody is clear about it

Bike starts cold with choke--when warm usually one kick. the problem is at high rpm just were it starts pulling real hard. seems worse in a higher gear like 3rd. sometimes in 2nd it will not do it at all. 2nd carb has main jet drilled. eng has a white brothers 02 cam? and is bored 3mm (621) so the main jet is too big? 2nd carb?

My xt600 is too rich at anything above idle, and it has stock jets and needle placements.
