if there was any paperwork confirming the bike is legitimate stolen recovered for example a leter from the police or an insurance company you can aproach the dvla for a new vin number and V5

i've done pretty much every kind of mod you can do to an xt600 see the supermoto xt600 thread i've just added a couple more things to the thread regarding foot pegs and lever mods

There is paperwork to show it was stolen recovered but unfortunatly the frame was damaged when it was stolen and although rideable it cannot be put back on the road (hence the frame numbers being removed by the insurance company) so the only way it can go back on the road is with a new frame.

the insurance company probably only removed the frame numbers as an economic viability it might be worth getting the frame inspected/jigged and with that done you can then get it renumbered

i'm trying to find a frame to build a field bike so i dont need a v5 and cant even find one for that they seem to be very few and far between these days

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events (22 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
