Cam adjustment access covers removal

How do you remome these covers (the round ones on the top at the front of the engine) without destroying them???

I haven't heard of anyone removing these without making a mess of them.

Please help - my rockers are knocking like a b@stard!!!

Use a "single hex" socket (6 sided instead of 12), & will be easier if the engine is hot due to the expansion of the cam cover, but of course then you will have to let it cool to do your adjustments.

Job done!!! :thumbup1:Why are these made out of such soft metal???

17mm hex socket and a bit of brute force!!!

Just waiting till the morning so the engine will be cool.

They are soft because they are OLD...

Why not replace them with standard bolts or new stainless.

They are soft because they are made of an aluminium/putty alloy.

Are there better replacements out there???

Anyway - the rockers wern't the problem after all (see other thread).:(
