just a couple basic things i appreciate during longer trips, ceterstand as apposed to the side stand aids in maitnance. i would recomend a shorter fender i see theres vents in the rear but having it shorter in the front will have better air flow to the eng. i do like the acerbis tank as it is a fair bit larger and less need to fill up as often. i do very much enjoy yoshimura pipes and feel they work very well with yamahas. good luck with the trip

Any decent suppliers in the UK ?

WeMoto are good for parts and they won't dick you about if they haven't got what you're after. There aren't really a great deal of parts available for TT600REs, probably because it doesn't need a great deal doing to it. A bigger tank, Acerbis' 20litre tank will give you a 250+ mile range. Metal mule do a rack, expensive but well made. I put a cheap generic screen on mine and 30,000 kms later haven't needed to do more than that.

Here's mine cooling off in the Alps this summer:

Cheers all for the help

Ive had a fair bit of stuff from Wemoto so happy to use them

Im probably going to get an acerbis tank from racespec.. unless someone knows a cheaper place.

Going to get a local guy to fabricate some racks to hold my trusty pelican cases (also get a small ali box as a topbox for charging laptop, phone etc)

The I will strip her down and replace anything remotely worn and more

Will post some pics when the works all done... I must admit coming from a Wee strom Im starting to fall in love with the old thump thump thumper

Cheers

Hi Geordie,
Definitely recommend a acerbis tank as well as increasing the fuel range it makes the bike a lot more stable in cross winds. I fitted a metal mule rack to mine but i wasn't happy with the fit, it needs a lot of persuading to fit. I would also recommend you do something with the seat, I found on long journeys it was like sitting on a plank.

Cheers Teedee

Got a larger tank coming

along with few more bits n pieces

as for the seat I have bought a gel slab and will soon be performing a bottomely on my seat (did it on my vstrom and it makes a world of difference)

Im having my racks locally fabricated.. will post pics when all done

In this bike is very important to grease the rear arm frequently, I´ve broke two of them.
