brake disc sizes

A few weeks ago i picked up a set of discs for my bike, a 1991 600e (3tb) came to fit it today n its too big. Not by much but enough to not be able to mount the caliper. So obviously a later/earlier model!... Anyway as far as soloutions go i could have a mounting plate made up as a larger disc can only be a good thing, try to find matching caliper but that means spending more money lol.

So does anyone know approx which model/year the larger disc is off?
I would use the search but it is not working for me on my phone. I do remember a thread regarding discs ect but must've been a while ago as i cant find it by going back several pages.

3TB

Front brakes Single 267mm disc
Rear brake 220mm disc

What size do you have?

I think it was 282mm after 95mod in front.

Unless the difference is 1/2" to 3/4" diameter or more I don't think there is much of a benefit for changing disc sizes, unless it goes with a better caliper(aka 2 piston or a bigger single piston for more pressure). I would probably turn the od of the disc down to fit the caliper, just have to watch the air holes so they don't get too close to the outer edge. If it is the .590" bigger(.295 per side) it may be worth it, but I think if the caliper that went with the bigger disc is wider and uses a wider pad it may be worth getting the caliper also, to gain the most out of the swap.

Well i had a 267mm disc fitted and as previously mentioned i now have the larger 282mm disc from a later model. So as said not a big enough difference to make a real difference to braking but as i've got it i may as well go with it n make up a bracket and use it. I do have a 2 pot caliper though which i think is standard. Although the stopping power has never been upto much haha.
Might just go properly oversize and go for the r1/r6 conversion haha
