Blowing tail light bulbs

In the last 500 miles (if that) I have got through 3 tail light bulbs on my TT600RE, though the brake filament has been fine!
Anything anybody can recommend?

cheers, Strat

I swapped my rear light for a LED tail/brake light.
These lights just go for ever and are perfect for bikes.
Have a look on Ebay - there's stacks of them

What like a replacement bulb, but LEDs instead, or a complete unit?

Are you sure it's the taillight bulb? It could be a loose wire. I had the same problem on an XT350, I just had to get in there and plug in one of those shoddy connectors Yamaha uses.

I had the problem again, though with a rear turn signal on an XT600E.

Like these

2X 24 LED RED 1157 P21/ 5W TAIL& STOP straight bulbs UK on eBay, also Bulbs Lenses, Lights Lighting Accessories, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 27-Jun-08 22:30:00 BST)

They come in pairs - so you have a spare (that you will never use!!!)

Don't be afraid of over seas ebayers - they are usually OK

Trust me on this one LED's don't blow!!!

Think yourself lucky when I had a CCM it did about 14 in as many days the factory responded with "its a big single they do that".

On a more positive note check all the mountings as my TTR has foam which reduces the vibs.

It's the vibration that is blowing the bulb's and to get over that you can put some silicon around the baynet part of the bulb before inserting into the fitting this will stop the vibration and the bulb will last a lot longer.

vibration killed loads on my XT600E till i got an LED bulb.
if the bulbs look ok check them with a meter or lamp 1st, it might not be them thats the problem.
i still recommend the LED though, fit and forget
