where to get carburetor parts

I need to find a replacement piece for my CV carb on the XT600. evidently some clown thought it'd be a smart idea to drill the jet for that carb out to "gain power" I guess, and just made it run a lot worse.

keep in mind, I know its $65 OEM, but I dont exactly have $65 extra nor will I be able to in the near future.

it'd be awesome if someone knows where to get that piece affordably, or even better, has an extra somewhere.

I'm in the USA. unfortunately, I dont know the jet size. to my knowledge, since this is a secondary carburetor, there is only one jet size. at least thats what my microfiche shows.

There are several, and the size changes throught the years.

Zigzag, thanks! I didnt know about that one, but I'll absolutely have to fire off an email to them in a few minutes and see if they can help me out.

I just found a microfiche with the parts diagram. what I'm needing is part #53 on the diagram. now whether or not this is even possible to GET I dont know

#53 is the emulsion tube - #56 is the yet.
All the emulsion tubes in XT carbs I have seen are stamped "00".

Together with the tapered needle it determines the fuel flow, so if it was drilled out you could also try lowering the needle, that will reduce fuel flow relative to slide opening.

Would suggest that you find a breakers or buy a used carb on ebay - for 65 USD you can buy a whole carb. Good news is, these tubes and needles almost don't wear, so you can defintely go for the 2nd hand option.

I think these tubes are geometrically different between the older piston CV carbs (yours) and the newer diaphragm carbs - so beware!
