battery

i replaced a dead battery with a brand new one on my VJ1. within two hours of riding with my headlight on the new battery is now also dead. is there a problem with the alternator or could it be something else?

first check wiring / cable connectors.
maybe a cable is grounded somewhere.
try to locate with an amperemeter.
first connect between + pole battery and red cable. if ignition is off, there shouldn't be any flow of current.
