Avon Distanzia

Has anyone had any experience with Avon Distanzia's on a XT600E?
What's the verdict on road bias tyres for this bike?
I'm currently on Dunlop Trailmax which are o.k dry but due to the narrow profile are not great in wet which I guess is much the same for all comparable tyres.
What do you think?
Cheers.

I too opted for Avons but went for the 100% road option - The Avon Road Rider.

Avon Tyres Ltd - tyres .

As I'm not going to be riding on anything but tarmac for the rest of the year I thought I'd give 'em a go.

They are much more stable and responsive than any semi on/off tyre I've used.

Having just used a Distanzia for over a year's worth of commuting, I can recommend them. No worries at all. Last ages, well, over 7k miles anyway. Just put a 2nd hand Sirac on purely because rear tyre caught a fence staple on way home the other friday. Managed to ride the last 15miles (slowly) with a complete flat because the Distanzia stayed seated on the rim

Thumbs up

Thanks for the input guy's, I picked up a second hand rear wheel back in the 'summer' with an immaculate Distanzia on it and was wondering whether to use it, my existing fronts getting a bit crazed alongside the knobbly bits so could replace it with a matching Avon.
Lifes a bitch sometimes XTorange but that's quite an impressive recomendation for Avon, incidently what pressures do you use, have you ever thought of trying Ultra Seal in the tubes?
Cheers.

Hi,
pressure in rear was about 18psi and front (still on bike) about 21psi. Didn't have any 'gloop' in at the time. I do have sealer in the rear now though!
I shall be fitting an 18" Distanzia whenever i get round to fitting my alloy rim.
