Acerbis tank

I have been offered an Acerbis long-range tank which is stated as fitting a 1996 XT600E. My bike is 1995 (1994 model year). Before I get too excited, will it fit? I assume it will, but there seem to have been quite a lot of changes to the cosmetics between 1995 and 1996, so I'm looking for confirmation. Thanks.

If yours is the electric start only model, then I think so !!

Don't hunt me down if it doesn't though. :innocent:

Just ask the guy if the seatpost on the XT the tank was on is the same as yours....send him a picture if you want to be sure (try to focus on the front part that actually touches the tank). If it is different, you'll have to change the seatpost and all the side fairings....

you hit the nail on the head when you said "there seem to have been quite a lot of changes to the cosmetics between 1995 and 1996" they are just that cosmetic :cool4:

That's what I thought, but good to have it confirmed. Thanks.

HEYYY if you do want that tank, all you have to do is buy new or used plastics for your bike like the 2002-2003 and the seatpost and it's a straight fit...

I got a '90 XT-E and I already have a fuel tank and seat post of a 2003 blue model fitted and it fit straight in!!

I'm just waiting for some cash flow to get the other plastics...
