I was not able to get hold of a factory manual for my '99 XT600E, nor is there a Clymer of Haynes manual for the bike, but this is not a problem. I was able to buy a photocopied factory manual for the early '90s bike from an independant biker's bookstore ( http://www.merlinbooks.com). The XT has changed so little over the years that, apart from some cosmetic plastic stuff, the manual is pretty accurate. Of course, if you can read German then there are plenty of manuals available for the XT. Try Wunderlich ( http://www.wunderlich.de) as a starting point.
