'94 / '95

I bought an Acerbis tank 23 L for my XT600E (1995), but is doesn't fit. If I watch the pictures from the wunderlich site, it looks like I might have a '94-model instead of a '95-model. But the XT600.de site says that there is a 90-95 model, so it shouldn't make a difference (94 or 95). But it could explain why other parts also didn't fit well.
My question is, could it be that different dealers of parts use different years? And that the difference in models is somewhere in the year '95? So that sometimes I need the '94 type and sometimes I need the '96 type?

Hi
If you email me your full frame and engine number I can tell you exactly what type of XT you have.
If you look on the wheel rims you will see a month/year stamp...eg 1202 (dec 02) this is a very good way of identifying the year.
If your XT is a 90-94 model it should not have a rev counter.

So, I have a 90-94 model, because I don't have a rev counter. Djee, I always thought I had a motor from 95. The vehicle registration says october 95, so I always thought it was one from 95.
The number is 3TB 164475.
