Another quick pointer....
Out of the 7 plates in the pack.....there's 2 that have a smaller diameter opening in the center....those go on 1st before the other 5. Once I got this right, my clutch has worked great ever since on my '88 XT6. |

clutch slip
hi icehole i have now re assembled my clutch with a new ebc dirtrider clutch and i can open the throttle in any gear now and i have no clutch slip yippee!the first time i put the casing back on even though i used a new genuine yamaha gasket i had a small oil leak and so i took the casing off to investigate why and i tore the gasket so i spent another £14 on another gasket but this time i smeared high temp black instant gasket on both surfaces and bolted it all up and now i have no oil leaks but what a pain having to drain my oil again.
anyway i hope you are getting on ok with yours there are 8 plates in my 1vj clutch and the second one you put on has a bigger inside diameter with a metal ring inside it and the last one you fit is the same so that the lid fits inside it or the clutch will not work properly . |
