'89 XT 600 E air filter needed in Chaing Mai

Anybody coming into Chaing Mai, Thailand who could bring me an air filter for an 89 XT 600 E? None available in Thailand and small animals found mine very "tasty" over the winter while the bike was in storage - they ate most of it! Also are there other Yamaha models that use this same air filter?
Thanks in advance

please check your model, there was a model change between 1989 and 1990, the second being the electric starter one.

If you read your frame number, it should start with 2KF or 3TB. They have different filters.

Another solution

Another solution: motorbike shop, usually sell special foam (the one specifical for air filters) and the oil to put on it. You can then remove the internal part of the air filter, keeping the external part of it and replace with foam. Clean often and apply again the oil every time if you travel on dirty roads.
This kind of air filter is really not the best option for dusty roads, but if you have no other choice..

Thanks- got one coming

The bike came out of CH and someone there scored two filters for me and is bringing them in. This bike has both electric starter and kick starter. In the meantime we are glueing in some foam.
Thanks for the tips.
