Bridgestone BT45's are the best tyre for on road only, they also have a harder centre to them and good directional grip, and don't tramline....there will be no twitchyness with these.......
I also had Metzeler Me33 and Me550 but they wear to much, don't grip that well on greasy roads, but god are they sticky in hot weather......soft compound! These were the only worthwhile tyres I could find with a 21" front tyre that matched....

check out that thread, as Avon Gripsters are still available and are good value if you want some off road tread, and good on greasy /wet roads bear in mind you are in Yorkshire, and it was snowing like f*** in March 2008 when I went up to Helmsley, so BT45's would not be good in that scenario. I found the BT45's were superb on wet and greasy roads and only slipped on white lines and manhole covers when wet, lots of confidence, just watch out when you change tyres!.... |
