600 xte valves and other

Hello,

My name is Henri from France, travelling to Cambodia with a 600XTE, 2003.
Do you think I souhld check my valves, or to be more accurate, ask someone to check it, after 10 000km. If not, how often should I check them.
I am in Teheran for some times. Do you have any advice of what are the weak points of the 600xte which I should check before entering central asia?

Thank you for all people who help me to answer the usual question: Can an unleaded bike accept leaded petrol? The answer is YES, until now...

If you don't hear the valves rattling, don't touch them. In fact don't touch anything that is not broken, except oil change and chain lube and maybe air filter check.
Our bikes like any petrol that burns. The only thing is that when you constantly use leaded fuel, theoretically the valve clearance gets bigger, because lead forms a layer between the valve discs and the seats.
But again, don't worry about it!
