5th gear

Yeah I ,ve just done it........you need a press to push them off the shaft as they are squeezed on.

When I came to put mine back on I put the shaft in dry ice for an hour or two but did not put the gear in the oven and I still pressed it on very easily, there is a measurement of 90.5 mm but its hard to get wrong as if you push it too far it won,t rotate.

Be careful of not mixing up your clutch plates as there are a different thickness and use a rattle gun to get the big nut off the clutch as I broke my clutch basket doing it by hand when my mate told me to use the rattle gun in the first place....an expensive mistake....

Any more questions just ask as I ll be back after work....good luck

Sorry but you had better check your book for that measurement as it is from my xt600e .....
