3AJ workshop manual required (in English?)

I recently bought Cabron's 3AJ and am planning to service and maintain the bike myself, however I cannot find a 3AJ workshop manual (bike is a 1991 model if that makes a difference). Does anybody know where I could find one? Unfortunately I do not read German very well (very ignorant of me I know)so the link I have found on this site to German book sellers isn't very helpful unfortunately. Any advice would be greatfully received.

Hi

There was a Clymer manual on ebay at the weekend. I guess its still there.

Cheers Dave but the auction has now ended. Anyway, that was for XT600's and TT600's between 1983 and 1989 (wouldn't that only be of use to people with 1VJ models, and not me with my 3AJ?).

Hi Craig,

1. The Clymer manual XT600 & TT600 '83-'89 is what most have, and covers "effectively" everything.
2. The German repair manual you refer to is also excellent for pictures and exploded views, and covers our 3AJ model. (My German has improved to....)
3. This link gives you an Acrobat version of the 3AJ handbook. http://www.pm-04.com/dox/3aj.pdf
4. This link gives you the fiche (series 1). http://tenere0.tripod.com/explodedviews.html (Pitty about all the exploding Windows to!).
5. You may have to join (free), but the UK Tenere forum has the Wiring diagram. http://uk.msnusers.com/UKTenereOwner...2DWiring%2EPDF

That's about where I have got to. The one thing that is missing, is a parts list (the fiche only has exploded views).

Hope this helps? Perhaps other members can point us to other information?

(Ha ha, I remember the Rising Sun in Billericay).

Ciao, Geoff

Genuine Yamaha workshop manuals in English show up regularly on ebay, esp. on the German site and they aren't expensive.

Good luck

John

Great stuff Geoff, thanks for all that. I've already downloaded the owners manual and printed it off (all nicely bound....until our puppy chewed the corners off it!). Anyway, I'll certainly download all the other stuff, and get myself an 83-89 Clymer Manual.

Next time you are planning to venture over towards Billericay, give me a shout. Maybe we could meet up for a few pints in the Rising Sun ?

Thanks for the info. John. I have been checking the German site fairly regularly for XT600 and Tenere stuff, but haven't seen a workshop manual in English yet....I will have another look before I purchase a Clymer 83-89 though.

Another site of interest is the U.S. Yamaha site, no Tenere's in the U.S. but interesting anyway.

http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/

Go to parts and service, click parts catalogue and select motorcycle, then pick year and model.Exploded diagrams with part numbers,it was spot-on for ordering parts for my import TTR250.

Cheers Fish.

Almost forgot to say keep an eye on this in the U.K.

www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/accessories_parts/index.jsp?parttype=CATEGORY#

This should be starting soon and sounds just like the U.S. site,it should have all tenere's on it.

Cheer Fish. (again}
