3AJ workshop manual

Hi all,

Does anyone have a workshop manual for a 3AJ ’89. I have a Clymer manual for the XT 600 which has been good enough during my top and bottom end rebuild. But now that I’m putting it all back together there are a couple of pipes from the carburettor that I’m not 100% sure where they should fit.

Could someone please scan the relevant pages or take some digital photos of the carburettor and pump.

Hi Ynot,

Like most, I use the Clymer manual, but also you can purchase the following manual that covers the 3AJ:

This repair manual does appear frequently on Ebay in Germany.

I see they have a distributor, Mototas A.S., in Istanbul.

It would be great to have a parts list and/or microfiche for the 3AJ. Does anybody have these?

Thanks for the book and Ermax info. I've nearly finished rebuilding the my 3AJ. great paint job done even frame. I love the delivered day looking of my bike so could'nt decide about original screen or flip top?
seen yours seperately and can't imagine.
Last thing is exehaust and front part.. mine s are useless and i got price from Rhodes Greek island its 650 Euros (original Yamaha)
I always believed exehaust is a most important part of single cylinders so i should prefered original yamaha on this. Any commeent?

The Yamaha exhaust price is very high over here too, (and this price is the reason I went for Stainless Steel). There are quite a few Silencers available, but only a couple that come 'road legal'. A search on this site should identify some of these.
Motad do a stainless steel header/manifold and again a search should find a couple of the good recommendations for this pipe.

I wonder whether you may be better looking at some of the dealers in Germany. Both the Wunderlich ( http://www.wunderlich.de/yamaha/066-073.pdf ) catelogue and Kedo ( www.kedo.com ) site have details? The Wunderlich prices are still shown in DEM (not Euros), and from comments Kedo appear to price below Wunderlich.

Ynot, The above information is just what I have picked up. I am not an expert, and just hope this information helps.
