3AJ Wiring

Hi I have changed some connectors on a XT I bought as a non runner can get the bike to run but keeps cutting out due to electric fault. will start and run again stright away only to cut out sometimes after a few yards other times will ride a few miles before cutting out.
The netural light is on most of the time but goes out when clutch is pulled in.
I have changed the clutch switch and no different. The side stand switch has been removed and wires joined together. I am going to try a different netural switch but think I have wired some thing wrong .
Any ideas whats wrong?
Thanks
