3AJ Tyres and sprockets

Hi,

I am embarking on a 6,000 km ride across Europe in June with some other friends on 3AJs. We will start off 50-60% off bitumen through Holland (sand and loam), Belgium (sand, rock and earth), France (forest and field track, all types of ground) before becoming rockier, more gravelly and sandier as the trail leads 80-90% off bitumen across Andorra, Spain and Portugal. Not to nadgery but very varied.

We will be riding supported so not carrying a huge amount of kit.

Tyres: I gather that the best tyres are a choice are T63, MCE Karoo, TKC 80 or MT21. Am I missing any? Which would folk recommend for this type of trip? What sizes can I fit on?

Sprockets: Any thoughts on sprocket sizes for 200km a day varied terrain?

Cheers,

John

Iv just fitted Metzeler Enduro 3 saharas.. Seem good upto now and the profile looks like it will cope well with rough trails (i havnt tested this yet thuogh)

I would stick to the original gearing as most of your journey is tar
