3AJ tickover
 

I just bought a '90 3AJ on ebay and rode it from Preston to Valencia via Bilbao. Other than a blown fuse she went beautifully. However the tickover is too fast and she seems to want to spit back out of the carb and annoyingly stops at lights etc occasionally. This suggests to me that the timing is too far advanced.I can't find a download or manual to give me the info to check the timing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Evans

This sounds more like the carb could do with a bit of a service and adjustment, also what petrol grade do you run, i`ve found with my Tenere that if i run the top grade fuel like supper unleaded my bike runs as you described the way yours dose, i now run on the lower grade fuels or the lead replacment when in the UK.
