35 Litre Tenere Tank?
 

Hi, I recently obtained an acerbis tank and acording to the previous owner its for an XT600 model unknown and Its 35 litres.Also it has an air box moulded into the back of the tank so as the seat would but up against the cover.There seems to be a tank that looks very close in one of the pictures in Chris Scott's Adventure Motorcycling Handbook,it seems to be on a 1VJ ? which would make sense as the bottom of the tank would mean removing the standard air box.The thing is if anyone has one or has had one what air filter does it use and was it for a 1VJ.

It is true that the 1vj's airbox does continue on from the front of the seat. The standard filter is a 'normal' foam affair. If you nead clarification I can take a photo of the tank and box on a standard 1vj and maybe you can compare. If you want a photo or three is there any particular angle that would help you most?

Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you.Anyway I got the book wrong,it's in Sahara Overland and it's not the standard 1VJ tank.This tank is plastic,has Acerbis on the side and Yamaha just behind the filler cap.I have a 3AJ and I think the airbox is the same as the 1VJ apart from the standard intake? This tank as I said before has an air box built into the rear of the tank (just infront of the seat) with two round openings from the bottom.
