Hi,
I have a 1986 1VJ that has been in a garage for 14 years and only has 1500miles on it from brand new. BUT i have this misfire problem.

It ticks over just great at 1200-1300 rpm.
It accelerates really well and runs great at 3000rpm plus
Starts well
BUT when you idle along at 2000- 2500 rpm it has a terible misfire and feels "flat" like the ignition timing is wrong.

I've put a new spark plug in (in the vain hope this just mioght solve it) but it make no difference.

Any help / advice apprecaited,

It's very simple, you're not supposed to torture your engine and idle at 2500 rpm.
These bikes have feelings too !!
Take out the rpm-meter and paint a red area until somewhere about 3200 rpm.
