1vj spark only with starter button pressed!
 

Hi all,

My blessed 1vj ( I say that with cynicism at the moment) is taking me for a ride - unfortunately not literally. After having a charging issue, I swapped stators from a working example. The bike charges as it should, but a new problem has developed. It now only has a spark with the starter button depressed and not when it is let go of. This seems bizarre, and before I start finding ways to uncouple the starter motor and bridge the switch etc I wondered if I am completely missing the point! I have checked wiring and all seems fine. I don't want to find another stator just to find that the problem is still there. PLEASE HELP!!!
