1VJ lower chain guide/tensioner?
Is there such a thing? Mine came with a rollerblade wheel attached to a banana shaped alloy arm mounted just above the side stand.
I have sinced thrown that out and now the chain rubs on the lower part of the frame. Is there an aftermarket part that fits? And if anyone would be kind, could they post a pic of theirs either stock or aftermarket. |

It can definitely be obtained from
KEDO - Performance Products I have always had great service from them. |

KEDO,thats the site I was thinking of!
Only thing with them is,they only ship overseas if you order over 50euros (sorry, couldn't find the symbol) Last edited by Yobbo; 2 Jul 2008 at 09:19. |

Just fabricate one... i've always been envious of Kiwi "can do" spirit (Britten anyone?).Just make a better version than the one you threw!

You could download the parts catalogue from Smokin“Lizard (use Search facility on the Hubb), and get some idea of what it should look like... then get the spanners and hammer out (oh, deep joy!).

Managed to score a bit of round "PE" plastic today.Seemed to stand up to the ride home from work without the chain leaving any marks on it,so hopefully that'll last a while.

It does hold up a while. I have one on m XT6 but since it wasn't holed in the exact center it tends to make the chain jump around a little... lol but is safely secured!

fit a 'proper' tensioner
Go to your local 'trials' shop and buy a chain tensioner for about £14.
There is a bit of jiggerypokery to adapt to fit the xt. Oh, and whilst you're at it, you will have to junk that waste of money x or o-ring chain and fit an ordinary 520. (iris 520rx is good). As we all know, it is the torque /jerkiness of the final drive that kills our chains not so much the lack of lube. Fitting details can be provided if required.
