1VJ Fuel Pump Connections

Can anyone please tell me the correct way to connect the fuel pump on my 1VJ?:helpsmilie:

The pump has 2 large conectors on the top which i have worked out to be fuel in/fuel out.

It also has a small pipe on the top between the large ones, this is not connected to anything at the moment, is this correct?

There is also a large pipe coming from the rear of the pump, where does this one go?

Finally, there's a small pipe coming from the left hand inlet monifold, the other end of this pipe looks like it's been conected to something but it's too small for the connector on the top of the pump, Any ideas?

I bought the bike recently as a non runner and it seems that someone has been tinkering with it.

I would really appreciate any help anyone could offer.
Thanks

Hi

Have a look at honeybadger's thread lower down this page. Wouldnt there also be a reserve fuel input?

Good luck!

Fuel pump connections

If it's the same as mine the little connection on the top is just a breather. The one on the back that is angled is a vacumn feed from the top of the left hand rubber inlet between the carb and head.
Mine hasn't a reserve feed as all the petrol from the two taps joins in a T then into the fuel pump.
Best of Luck.

Hi,

I don't know if this 3AJ Fuel Pump diagram will help you?
3AJ Fuel Pump

MSN Groups appears to be very, very slow, and you may have to wait several minutes for the picture to load up - but it should load up eventually. You may wish to use Babelfish to tranlate (Babel Fish - Online Translator).

Geoff

ps. I can send you the picture separately, as an attachment to an email, if you send me your email address. I don't think I can send attachments using the Hubb's email link?

Update-
Thanks to all of you for your help.
I can now report the status of my Tenere has changed from non-runner to runner.
After connecting the pump correctly (thanks to you guys) fitted a new battery and primed the carbs, pressed the button and it barked into life straight away.
Thanks again for all your help.
Best Regards.
