1994 XT600E - clutch boss needed
Well, I started pulling the clutch out last night to install the EBC Dirt Racer heavy duty clutch kit (part # DRC88)........AND........the clutch boss has 5 cast arms and one of them had a bubble/imperfection in the casting and was cracked/split down one side the entire length when I pulled the old clutch plates out. I figured it would not hold and torque it down anyway to 5.8 ft/lb and it split/snapped just like I thought it would. I guess that may have been why the clutch had been slipping all this time. Looks to be the orig OEM clutch still in the bike. Its got 13.5K miles on it. I guess it was a factory casting glitch.
Anybody have a clutch boss they want to sale?? I have a 94 XT600E. Know where I can get one cheap?? Also: Will the clutch boss and pressure plate off of a 1986 XT600 fit a 1994 XT600??
