1993 XT600E Rebuild?
Hi
Your comments are much appreciated. I have stripped the engine down to the cylinder block to replace the leaking gaskets. What parts to check or change as preventive maintenance to save a second engine strip down? Should I change the cam chain and have the valves ground? The piston looks ok but I am changing the rings. The bike has about 45k miles and the engine starts and runs ok except for the persistent oil leaks around the cylinder head and block. Any pointers to look out for during engine assembly would be appreciated since this is the first time that I worked on any engine. Anyway, I plan to do a complete bike rebuild and any information on parts reinforcement and upgrade would be appreciated. I am also thinking of installing a kickstarter and would appreciate any information on parts availability and installation procedures. Thanks and have a nice day. Cheers, thomas |
