1991 xt600e left side panel

Hello, I have just picked up a 1991 xt600 with 7,500 miles on it and it is missing the left battery side plastic panel cover that I can not find, white color. part # 3tb-21711-20-00 any one know if a 1993 black color left side cover part # 3tb-21711-70-00 will fit seeing that only the #20 and #70 in the part numbers are different. I can live with a black one instead of no cover at all. Thanks Paul

If you sand it with 800 wet paper and use plastic primer, then paint white it will be better than new.

Busterdog,

A 1991 Yamaha XT600 with only 7,000 miles on the clock! :thumbup1:

Now that's a keeper - not too many older XT's left with that kind of mileage. The older ones are becoming pretty thin on the ground you know. Most have been RTW or trailed to destruction. It's such a shame that the XT6 is starting to disappear like the lovely little XT350 surely did long ago... Most people's options for a low mileage XT now lie with the later XT600E model.

Nice to see a pic of your find? What condition is it in (apart from the low mileage engine)?

Keep an eye out on Ebay and Gumtree for a replacement side cover. I think it's possible to get the decals custom made once you find the correct size/shape side panel. Or is the panel plain white, in which case xtrock's advice here is excellent?

Your account doesn't show where you are from (UK or wherever)? doh This might help others provide advice.....

Lucky boy finding a low mileage XT6. :mchappy:

I live in the USA Michigan lots of almost endless great trails in the northern woods. The bike is in very nice condition was garaged and only used on the street. I have replaced the intake manifolds, chain, went to 14 tooth front sprocket, Looking for a larger rear sprocket but have not found one here in the us would like a 48t or maybe 50t like my 1979 TT500 for more trail than street. Tires new Kenda K760 series street legal knobbies rear 130/90-17 and front 80/100-21. Oil and filter. Have side cover coming and a set of mirrors. I will get some more pictures soon. Thank You to all the replies and info. Paul

Hey!

Bike is looking Very good!

Keep in mind that when changing to a larger rear sprocket of that size, you will most likely need a longer chain!
I've got 15-47 sprockets and I really like it for street use!

When I was researching to upgrade my rear sprocket I believe I found some larger 50th sprocket I believe GYTR for the raptor 660 or the raptor700, I don't remember precisely..

I'll google and tell you what I can find!
