1989 XT 600 2KF Mods - HELP

(first of all, sorry about my english)

Hi there.
I'm from Portugal, and i have a 1989 XT 600 2KF.
I need some advice from you experts
What performance cams should I get? (not top end but more torque)
Is there any performance CDI on the market that you know?
And about Dynojet carborateur kit's?

I'm rebuilding my engine and allready have a Wiseco hi-comp piston, inox CRD headers, Pro-Circuit Ti-4 Tittanium exhaust, Barnett clutch.

Can you help me on this?

Hello and welcome!

Your English seems great -- I understand it even better than American!

Are you super moto'ing your xt?

If so... coooooooooooooooollll!!! Please post pictures and updates as you go along...

A few guys on Thumpertalk.com have super moto'd XT600s... so you may find more information on performance parts there.

Carbs that are recommended by the guys are the "CR Special" carbs by Keihin. Also - Yamaha Raptor 660 's carbs were fitted and reported to work great.

i use a pair of mikuni bcr32 carbs on my supermoto'd xt600e i've gone 3mm oversize high comp piston with some slight port work but still using standard cam at the moment as the only high lift cam available in the uk is weld and re grind from tts performance and i've not got round to sending a spare cam off yet.

... are you kidding me??!!

I ADORE them... if I could ride my Duke II (off the shelf, I know, not the same as building your own) across Africa, I would.

(I rode it to Scotland once: apart from running out of fuel between services (9l tank!), the side stand vibrated off... and my numb-bum took weeks to recover. So not a good idea for long distances.)

I think riding my Tenere is like riding an armchair, in comparison -- but a girl can't have her cake and eat it, it seems.

DO post pictures and updates on yours... maybe when I get back... maybe....

>>>>>> REWIND !!!!

DId I just read you have a milling machine???

me kidding nooo

yes a broken milling machine its not a cnc one though its all manual i can't afford a cnc jobie it's more for precision drilling and small jobs like brake caliper hangers and brackets. i got myself a little lathe a while back and its been a life saver for wheel spacers and even crash bungs.
