02 XT600E gearbox problems
HI , My 02 XT 600E has no second gear . if I try to ride it and put it into 2nd (with or without clutch) it wont go in . or should I say it sort of feels like it goes in at low revs but any power on it just makes a horrible noise . all the other gears work fine . Any Ideas I am intending to take it apart but have never worked on an XT gearbox so if anyone could direct me to pics./manual of how to strip/rebuild the gearbox I would be very very happy . Thanks

Go to this site http://www.tcdo99.de/tt600r/
On the left hand side, click on the link that says Technik. Then click on the TT 600 R Link. At the very bottom of the page, there is a box labelled Werkstattservicebuch TTR600E. Click on the 'Download' icon next to it. This is a full factory service manual for the TTR600, which remember is very similar, if not identical (engine wise...) to our XT600's. This will have all the info that you need to disassemble and repair your gearbox. Cheers, Dan!
