Solo female biker in Sudan - dress code?

Hi there, I am going to be arriving into Sudan in about 10 days time and would be really interested if any other ladies out there could tell meA bit more about the local dress code? I will be covering up arms/legs/chest etc, but I've heard trousers without some kind of skirt over the top can be a problem in some areas. Any thoughts/experiences here ladies? All advice v welcome, thanks :o) ps not sure if this makes a difference but I'm travelling solo

I found wearing trousers was ok - though I always wore them with a longer top eg hip length. Try to cover your arms too. I had a big scarf I could use to cover my head and shoulders but I didn't do that all the time by any means. The people all see westerners on TV the whole time but we crossed paths with an overland truck and some of their outfits were attracting a lot of attention (men and women).

I think if it's clear you are making an effort not to offend you will be just fine.

Just spent 7 months working in Sudan.

As a Christian things are tolerated slightly in Khartoum, but anywhere outside then covering up is a must.

Sudan has some of the friendliest people i have ever met. When you get to Khartoum look up the Acropole Hotel (Greek run) which is a bit of a cult place now for travellers, the owner George will make anything you need happen and is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

There are a few nicer places to stay, but the service and help are just too good, when i was there last many women stay there from the UN, BBC, and various aid agencies.
