Australian/American 2 up Adventure

My husband and I are arriving in Portland to pick up our bike to do an 11 week tour of Alaska, Canada and on down to New Orleans. Did a tour in 2007 including 16 states over 5 weeks. This is a more 'serious' adventure and I was hoping to talk to other women to seek out any hints and tips. Including such things as what to pack. Any little thing actually that may be gender specific or otherwise. We leave Australia on July 3 and can't wait!!!

Sounds like an amazing trip! You will be riding through lots of various weather in all those places and altitudes. I'd suggest dressing in layers.Take bug spray for AK and Canada on the way up and some sun screen for your face, even if wearing a helmet. I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota and if you get the chance to come through here during the first week of August there is a world-famous bike rally going on at Sturgis - but it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Wishing you safe and happy travels.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
