XTZ660 or KLR650
I had made the descision to buy a KLR650, but have been unable to find one here in Melbourne, Australia. So I have found a XTZ660... the money is right, and I was after people opinions on weather it is a good alternative? Positive and negative opinions welcome, particually with regard to relliability, parts availability and performance.
I should menion that I am buying this bie for touring around australia, both on and off road. Thanks in advance Matt Last edited by mattj; 24 Jan 2008 at 23:38. |

Hello!
Hey Matt,
Sorry we've not answered your question! From someone who made up their mind about one bike - and then bought something completely different: I would say if you've got a good bike in front of you, buy it. After you've prepped it to suit your needs, there's not much difference in it. I can't comment on a KLR, but I've done a lot of research on XTs and you only need to look at the sheer amount of XT owners travelling long distance, to know that its a reliable and sound choice. (We've bought two!) If you read the Yamaha Tech forum, you'll get an idea of what particular problems arise for which models, and how suitable it is for your purpose. M |
