what is best bike for under 2 grand

Let s see what is the best all round bike for under 2 grand to tour Canada , usa and down Mexico. I don't really care about the age of the bikes. only 3 things matter. The best gas milage . That someone over 6 feet can ride it for a day without feeling he has been bound in a nutshell and now is the king of infinate space. LOL. CC doesn't matter to me. If it's 200 cc that ok.
Yes I love the old gl 1000 goldwings but 38 mpg. My car gets that now. I would love an st1100 but again out of my price range. I ve even thought of the honda helix but can t find one in BC at a good price. I guess the only other thing I can think of is parts.
Tell me what you think and thanks.

If getting the best mileage is your bag then, what about - the Honda C90 ?
Tough - go everywhere - awesome fuel economy but time does need to be on your side !
