Wee compared to ....

G·day ,:thumbup1:
just a tiny question if some more experienced trail riders would be so kind to take a minute to share their oppinions with me.:eek3:
Would a wee strom be able to go the same offroad stuff as for instance an Africa Twin, a transalp, a tiger or a GS? More or less? (obviously depending on the rider):mchappy:
Thanks,
Dan:tongue_smilie:

dl650 can do "some" off road (depend tire) but not is an off road bike. F650gs have more capabilities in that department. africa twins the same.

I guess you are interested in the twins/triple

Well Dan, no one has owned up, so far, to riding all of those bikes offroad.
I have ridden one or two of them onroad only and I would say the Wee strom is as good as any of them, and better than most, on the basis of weight alone; as mentioned before, tyres come into the equation a little bit :rolleyes2:.

If you do a search for Mollydogs' posts he has said quite a bit about the bigger DL1000 capabilities offroad and he reckons that the Wee Strom is just as good, if not better, again because of the weight.

Finally, as ever, what you mean by offroad is not necessarily what another rider means!!

I have had F650 and have a DL650 both are good bikes neather is a trail or off road bike. Non of the bike you posted are grate off road or single track trails. There all to dam big to top heavy to much plastic to brake there good at bad dirt roads. People can ride them off road I have a little but there not made for it.

The F650gs is likely the best lot for off road and the Tiger the least. Think the new tiger dropped most its off road capabilities this year to out compete on the roads for the adventure turing market.

For trail riding a DRz400 is grate a DR650 and KLR650 are good to. People seem to discount them too much I think.

But as has been posted Mollydogs will know better than me.

If you meant trail=dirt road then yes there all about the same. Is far as I have seen.
