TTR 600 London to Capretown

Right... I am seeking to console myself. This morning I came down to find my beloved KLR650 that I am (sorry was) taking to South Africa had been stolen!

I'm looking immediately at replacements - I have been offered a good TTR but of all the big singles its not one I know anything about.

Can anyone give me the pros and cons list of this machine? Leaving october most of my trip will be blacktop until I begin to round the middle east and enter into Egypt - then its dodgy roads down the east cost to the Cape.

At first glance It'll need a long range tank - and I've heard conflicting things about the strength of the subframe.

How does this square with the XT?

Cheers in advance

Tom

Hi Tom, George here. I think that the TTR is a much better bike than the XT and 10x sexier! I would take the TTR over the XT to africa any day. She rear subframe is not a problem, particularly with a good rack.

I would suggest thinking of buying something made in Germany:biggrin3:
