TT vs XR
 

Hi all
I have just returned to Australia for summer and need a cheep road/trail
so im looking for an older bike the xr and tt seem the most well built
Im not even sure what size bike, i hear 250 is under powered on road and 600 is heavey off road
I need something that will take me 400 km north to the beach house but mainly as a runner around town and down the beach
I currently have a dominator in the UK it is great but I would like something lighter and something easier to throw around in the dirt
if anyone has any advise it would be most welcome

A 250 can maintain highway speeds but not much more, and most 600cc dual sports won't be much lighter than your Dommie, though an XR600R or 650R will greatly outperform the Dommie in the dirt.

Perhaps an XR400 is what you need - lightweight but still has lots of power.
