TriBMW F800XCGS
So what's the difference between a BMW F800GS and a Triumph Tiger 800XC?
Bugger all as far as I can see. Are BMW and Triumph using the same designer?

It is also amusing to consider that Triumph pioneered the vertical twin ,which is the engine type used in the BMW f800 GS ,and that BMW went with conventional chain drive and suspension for the 800 .
Maybe Fritz was short of ideas ,'cos he bought engines from Bombardier as well . But on a more serious note ,let's hope the Triumph has usable torque and a nice low first gear for plonking . If not ,well then it's just another psuedo "adventure" marketing niche bike .

On that one at least, I think they're all pseudo adventure machines. We've all bought into the marketing hype with regards to what machines we 'need' to have. A good friend of my family made a trip to North Africa from Ireland (and back) on a Honda 175 with a sidecar attached, without any drama and another made the trip to the Dragon Rally on a Honda 50. It took a bit longer than it could have but no less fun or adventure was had.

In addendum, I'm not giving out about peoples choices in the machines they use. I have an R1200GS and I'm very happy with it, to each their own.
