Tiger

I am looking at buying an M reg Tiger

I was just wondering if there are any oppinions about on these machines? any bits to look out for or major downfalls? any guide price for a tiger in reasonably good condition.

The Triumph representation on this site is somewhat small. As I and my Trophy can attest. You might want to try going to triumphrat.net where there is a pretty good represention of the various Hinkley bikes by model.

What I can tell you is that a lot of people are worried about the availability of spares. As to the reliability of the bikes I can not comment as I love my Trophy and any information would be seriously biased.

Either that or I'm swayed by the first 40k km without a problem.

Cheers
Rick

Right, Triumphs are rare, Tigers even more so!

As it happens, I'm getting ready to sell my N reg 1996 Tiger. I believe it was the first issue of the new Tiger and on roads I am seriously happy with it. Great fun. For the rought stuff the centre of grabity is quite high and you need to be tall. fine for me (6'3")

Issues? Mine had a £400 first class alarm/immobiliser system fitted, which was great...until it permanently immobilised the bike. No luck with getting anybody to fix it, so I had it removed. Really bad thing? System went wrong the day I planned to start a weeks holiday!!!

Good thing? Friend from Germany phoned the same day and asked if I was still interested in a GS. Now I've got two bikes http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey Rick , you are not alone - I also run a Trophy ( although it doesn't stray off the tarmac...)
It has character , and its great for long distance touring.

Ray
