TDM850: Good, bad, or just ugly ?

Any opinions on the older TDM's, especially reliability, things to check & stuff that's likely to break on a long trip ?

Took mine to Scotland & back over the weekend (1200 miles round trip, 620 on the last day). When my butt recovers so I can walk again I'm going to buy a better seat(ouch!).

Have clocked up 80,000 miles on my TDM so far - still going strong.
Only problem I've had was the exhaust rusting out - otherwise totally reliable.
I sling a sheepskin over the seat for the sake of my bum - thoroughly recommend one
