Suzuki 650 Vstrom

I've been seriously considering the 650 Vstrom
for some time now. My old GS1150 has been good to me, but the time to replace it has come... and I do not like the GS1200.

Most of riding is 2 up with hard bags. About 40kg of gear. I have read alot of reviews and the 650 Vstrom seems like it may be a good option.

I wanted to know if anyone has any real world experiences with the 650 on an RTW that you could enlighten me with.

I have had my 05 DL650 about 9 months now and I like it a lot. I am about 50years old and have been riding or racing most of those years. I ride my DL650 in the AZ desert two up. I weigh 220lbs or more with gear and the wife around 135lbs. It will run 125mph two up and it gets to a 100 in a hurry. It does well on hard packed gravel roads and pavment. The down pipe is to low for rough off road. It will wipe a BMW off any road because it is a lot lighter and that matters on gravel roads. 417lbs dry. It could use an upgraded rear shock and some fork spring upgrades to brinkg it's suspension to that of a KTM. It's a good place to start your RTW bike project.
