A support bike for a 4-wheel trip
 

Hi,
We are planning a 4-wheel tour and considering taking a motorized bike in the back of the truck.

I anticipate the bike would be used for:
- fun
- checking out a road
- getting help
- exploring towns where we might park the truck on the outskirts.

My thoughts are that it should be:
- relatively lightweight
- capable of taking two people
- easy to maintain
- cheap (don't want excessive carnet costs)
- moderately capable in adverse terrains

Your thoughts are much appreciated

Small trail bike (TTR250, Serow etc).

suzuki dr350 or honda xl250 both with estart and plenty capable if rough gpoing with or without too much luggage,
