Santiago, Chile to Florianopolis, Brazil

Hello, I need advices from someone, I'm going to a trip from Santiago, Chile to Florianopolis, Brazil, I'm going to pick up a bike in Santiago, Chile, the bike is a 2005 HONDA ST1300, does anybody knows if ST300 is a good bike, and what kind problem(if I have one) will be?? That will be my first long ride...
and I'm little worried about that...And which route should I get...Thanks...
