One amazing machine!
Ten years old and with just over 77 000 miles, this Honda Transalp 600 has just finished its SECOND London to Cape Town trans African trip! First she came down the West coast before we made our way down the East coast, TWO UP!
Like a true trooper she gave us no problems at all except for a leaking shock absorber, the only part that was not original Honda! Naturally we are now looking for a bike for our next trip and we would like to hear from other bikers with similar experiences on other bikes. Although, it is unlikely that we will go for anything other than a Honda! Namsa. About Us « Orphea’s African Tales |

Huge Congrats, on the second run but only 77,000 miles on the ride, surely you can take her back down again next week

Why?

I have edited the quote. ONLY 77,000 miles, done the trip TWICE and RELIABLY, so NATURALLY your looking for a DIFFERENT bike????? If it aint broke, dont fix it! shes good, you know it inside out, you have confidence in it ( otherwise you wouldnt have done that trip twice) why sell a reliable old friend? ![]() Martyn |

Sorry guys, I wasn't clear at all. I will not sell the bike, EVER, I mean, she is part of my backside by now!
No, the plan is to leave her here at home in South Africa as a traveling bike for whenever I am here on holiday. This will work out quite well, as well as giving me the opportunity to experience some other bikes. Any recommendations? Namsa. |

Get the misses riding and use two smaller, lighter bikes. DRZ 400's, KLR250 or XT225 Serows. You know it makes sense !
