The closest I have come to one is at one of the shows. Without fuel it feels top heavy, I can't imagine taking it offroad with a full tank and have to manage anything less than a gravel road. I'm a big offroad guy, a trailie should do just that and all I see is a realy cool V-twin sportbike engine in a very comfortable, long travel road bike/sport touring package. I like it, like it a lot, but wouldn't be caught dead taking it into anything just shy of a dirt road.
My dream is for Suzuki to produce an offroad worthy tour bike with the SV650 motor, sort of a DRV650. Ah, to dream......... RobG

Jeroen, your a cruel man. Great pics! Unfortunately for me, Suzuki USA is dedicated to sportbikes. The hardcore offroad touring life has not caught on like it has in Europe. Oh well, we will just be stuck with big bore singles. I am so jealous of the spirit that Europeans have for motorcycling. We are few in the States. Thanks again for the pics! RobG

I have a TL1000R which has the same motor - albeit tuned up a bit - must say I can't ever see this thing leaving the tarmac - unless it's on it's side with a shower of sparks.

Off I use a YZ400 - 60bhp and 110kg - with proper suspension and a reasonably low maintence motor.

The likes of DR XTZ etc seem flabby in comparison

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
