Lightbulb Make A List

I recently helped a friend of mine pick a bike for a long trip with his wife and I happen to think that before buying we should have a checklist.

Ø Continent where you will be buying the bike
Ø Money needed to buy and prep it
Ø New or used
Ø 1 or 2 up
Ø Type of riding (HWY/off road/ 50/50)
Ø Continent planned to be visited
Ø Maintenance will be done by whom??
Ø Known problem and fix for the bike
Ø Best year of specific model
Ø Part available easily
Ø Spare part for trip
Ø Mods that other rider have proven to be useful

These were some of the question my friend ask and lucky for me I had access to the HUBB because what a guy like me which currently own a KTM450 SXF , R1200GS,XR650R Tagged, a FJR1300ABS and just sold few month ago a KLR650 will have recommend???

What do you guys think

make a list

you are right , I had a very poor choice of tire for my KLR or BMW, at the opposite the XR is very easy to set pretty much any where in the world.
