KTM 640 Adventure (2005)
Anyone know the average range on a tank, as I am thinking of getting one. I was toying between this and the LC 950, but I am thinking the 640 is proven etc., and should hopefully get me further as well as being lighter, only losing out to power and a smoother ride which doesn't bother me too much!

I average 16 kms/liter city and 20 kms/liter on the open road, with my 640.The KTM 640 series are great bikes, however the factory replacement parts are absurdly overpriced, and often difficult to find in stock(so,take critical spares with you). The KTM's have many quirks that you will either love or hate;strange engine noises,Black Magic starting ritual, complicated oil changes, and a primitive electrical system. The 640's have been used all over the globe with a good track record.

Maybe worth checking ADVrider KTM side:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34 I'm sure they have compared 650 with 950 from technical side. Margus |
